Our Story
1995
Royal Coffee New York started in Staten Island, New York. The initial team was just three people in a small office (…whoops, we mean trailer!).
Under the initial guidance of Royal Coffee Inc. in California, Royal Coffee New York continued to grow, eventually moving into a larger office (…whoops, we mean larger trailer!), to accommodate additional staff.
2014
Royal Coffee New York moved its headquarters to a larger office (…we really mean office this time!) connected to the Royal New York warehouse in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
The entirely solar powered facility and natural gas powered forklifts ensure the company’s operations are clean and energy efficient.
2015
Royal New York turns 20 years old!
The Lab by RNY was founded to provide an education and training space for the specialty coffee industry.
It began by offering barista-focused and coffee roasting classes on site at the Royal Coffee New York headquarters.
2016
Royal Tea New York was founded to bring a wider product portfolio while still emphasizing quality to the specialty coffee and tea industry.
The Lab by RNY moved into the Royal New York Annex, directly across the street from our headquarters. With this move The Lab by RNY drastically expanded its space and capabilities and became a certified SCA Premier Campus.
2022
Royal New York launches the Royal NY Line Up!
The Royal NY Line Up is a rotating assortment of the most unique, high scoring lots of specialty green coffee. Best part about the Royal NY Line Up is that it’s delivered in approachable quantities, 22 lb boxes!

At The Lab by Royal New York, we’re passionate about sharing our knowledge and experience with all things coffee and tea with our community of roasters, cafe owners, or any other enthusiasts wanting to further their industry education. The Lab offers everything from palate development workshops to cupping courses and Q Grader classes. It we don’t have a class that meets your needs, we’re always open to partnering for custom classes!
